A Right of evacuation for Fukushima children was rejected at the Court

Last year fourteen primary/junior high school students, supported by their parents , appealed to the court in Kooriyama-city in Fukushima prefecture for their right to evacuate to a safe area, and several conscientious doctors supported them and presented evidence of how dangerous it would for them to stay.
However, at the end of last year the Kooriyama court decided not to evacuate them.  The main reason for the decision was that the ionized radiation level in the area where the children live is under 100mSv/y, which is deemed insufficient to satisfy the conditions for evacuation.
I found this unbelievable, and it would not surprise me if Prof Yamashita had something to do with it.  He was campaigning in Fukushima Prefecture soon after the explosions, telling citizens not to worry and that they could let their children play outside as much as they wanted.  He told them that people who worry gets ill and people who smile don’t.  What an unbelievable comment from a doctor who has been to Chernobyl to treat children who developed thyroid cancer.  In Chernobylpeople were evacuated from 5mSv/y areaswhile in Fukushima it has to be 20mSv/y, so this Kooriyama-city court decision falls far short of justice for human rights.  The parents of the children are now preparing to take their case to the International Tribunal for Civil Affairs. So we would like to follow this and let the readers know about their progress in the future article.

Here is a recent NHK report published at the beginning of this year in Japan on the 100mSv/y theory put forward by IRCP.   According to this report, there is no scientific evidence for this safety limit.  The NHK reporters visited two retired nuclear scientists who had attended the meeting to decide on the safety limit.  They told the NHK reporters that they had discovered evidence that 50mSv/y can cause cancer.  Although they opposed the decision, it was decided for political reasons just to double the maximum acceptable level for the benefit of the nuclear power business without any scientific evidence.
