CODEX and Food Safety? The hidden world of radioactive food!


I was quite shocked to know how EU regulation has been loose on food safety to do with ionizing radiation since the Chernobyl disaster.  I wrote 2 articles last year on Food Safety issues.

In these articles I commented in UK it was 500Bq/kg while in Japan current permissible level of ionizing radiation (Cesium) is 100Bq/kg.  However I found out that most of the links I used for those posts were deleted.  However Archlight of nuclear-news.net posted the most recent information on food safety.  Apparently it is now back to 1250Bq/kg in EU that was the same level soon after the Chernobyl disaster in 1986.
