Heartfelt speech from Fukushima mother

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORK5XWIFCTE
Mrs. Kazue Morizono lives in Kooriya-city, Fukushima prefecture with her family.  She made a heartfelt speech at Goodbye nuke rally at outdoor Hibiya music hall in Tokyo on October 13, 2012.  Fukushima prefecture was used to be, and actually I would like to say it is still a beautiful prefecture with 70% of the area is mountainous although many area is highly contaminated.  She described how she noticed bags and beetles have been also affected by the radiation in her speech.  Here is some translation of her speech:
I haven’t seen hardly any mosquitoes, moths and golden beetles in the area I live in this summer.  There was less heavy rain this year.  I haven’t seen any bugs that normally jump in the blue-white lights at the convenient stores.  I never heard the sound of a blank gun shoot that keep sparrows away from rice field during harvesting season this year. There is normally lots of red dragonflies at the end of summer. But this year I only saw one in our garden.  I found sound of crickets, a bell-ringing crickets and grasshoppers weak this year. Children in Fukushima couldn't touch bags and beetles again this year even if there were lots of them.  I think the bags and beetles were just about ok last year, but they seem to be less active and much weaker this year.  I'm wondering if we were going to see them in the future.
Lots of Children have already developed some health problems…  Radioactive material has no colour and no taste.  We have been exposed to the radiation all the time to this day.  5.736uSv/h (as of 25/9/12) was atmospheric dose of one of elementary schools in Fukushima prefecture.  The school is famous, and appeared on TV before.  Even after several repeated decontamination, it is still very high.  (5.736 μSv/h=50mSv/y, Nobody lives in Chernobyl more than 5mSv/y area unless they want.) There are many hotspots like this in the school building.
Also similarly contaminated hotspots are found in many places in Fukushima and Kooriyama cities. Even if in these situations,  City-marathon event was held in Kooriyama-city the other day.  Since last summer lots of outdoor events had been held in Fukushima and Kooriyama cities even the air is so contaminated radioactively.  Marathon race, Ekiden, Beer festivals, Ramen noodle festivals, food and goods stands… When the marathon race was held in Kooriyama city, it was a drizzly rainy day.  Children were carrying a portable shrine and drumming Japanese drums in the radioactive rain!  It’s sad to say that they were enjoying themselves even they got soaking wet.

Who is making children do that ?  Corporations, Chamber of Commerce and industry, Educational and Medical circles, together with local government have been carrying out “False safety campaign throughout Fukushima prefecture soon after the nuclear accident.  Main media such as Yomiuri and Asahi Newspapers and TV were supporting to spread it.  Because Nuclear power group wanted NHK(Japan Broadcasting Corporation) to be on their side, NHK gave a statement of “Nuclear power is a national policy”, downplaying the Fukushima disaster, spreading a false safety campaign in Japan and to the rest of the world.  How they are going to take a responsibility?
But I think we, adults including me need to take responsibilities, too for all what happened.  I had been living for many years without knowing anything about the danger of nuclear power and the radiation before.  I would like to say to people who are very very greedy: Earth planet is not just for human.”  Japan is planning to restart more, build new ones, and try to export nuclear power business into other countries.  I would like to ask nuclear corporations- Hitachi, Toshiba and Mitsubishi “What they think about our life?” ……..
We shouldn’t use this dangerous energy.  Once the accident happens, we can’t control the danger. Fukushima accident is far from over.  To women in Japan and around the world please get together saying no more nuke!  And to men please support us and work together towards Nuclear Free World!
