Talks over price threaten nuclear aims



 By Guy Chazan and Jim Pickard, 14 Feb 13,  The future of Britain’s nuclear ambitions hangs in the balance amid increasingly fraught talks between EDF Energy and the Treasury over the price of electricity from EDF’s planned nuclear power station in Somerset.
The two sides are negotiating over what price EDF should be awarded for the power it generates at Hinkley Point C, set to become the first new UK atomic plant built in a generation. But the gap between them is much wider than many in the industry were expecting………
