Dear all,

Thank you all for visiting, reading and sharing the news with me on the Fukushima Appeal Blog. I’ve kept it running since February 2012. Unfortunately, I will need some break now to attend to some of my health issues.

I would like to thank this blog and its supporters for giving me an opportunity to become a part of the slowly awakening global community during this very important time of global change. I had zero knowledge of nuclear before the Fukushima disaster, and was and still am a just normal citizen. It’s been hard to see Japan becoming a criminal, immoral and authoritarian country since the Fukushima Disaster. So it’s been a huge awakening and healing process to have a platform to speak out instead of feeling powerless, angry and sad about it. With the new secret law that is going to be introduced in Japan soon, Japanese people will need more help than at any other time in its history from foreign bloggers, doctors and scientists. Please remember Fukushima. I hope that the more difficulties we may encounter, the stronger and connected we will become to fight against injustice and be able to act from our heart space. (Mia)

Fukushima Appeal: Another Moving Story of Fukushima Mother Having to Leave Her Older Son to Protect Her Younger Son….

I was very moved by messages in this video.  I also have my family members live in Fukushima-city, and that’s the reason why I started to write this blog.  (Mia June)

Transcription of the video:
Tomomi Abe Fukushima Evacuee speaks,
My dearest Love, Day by day I'm getting more tired of communicaton over the phone.  The moment I wake up in the morning, until the moment I fall asleep.  I think of you each minute.  I'm in pain as if my whole body is torn apart.  The fact that you're not here is why I feel the pain.  Every single day, for months, whener we saw each other's faces we argued over whether or not we should evacuate from out town, Soma.  I couldn't get why you didn't understand.  You  refused and stubbornly said, "It's my life.  It's my choice."
For a 15 year-old teenager, you should be having the best years of your life.  Perhaps, every time you walk outside you feel like you're committing suicide.  I fled out of Soma with your little brother, when he saw me crying in his bed, after I screamed trying to convince you.  In the middle of the night, your brother said to me he can give up his life. "If it's for my brother, it's ok if I die with cancer." "I would give up my life for him." Your 9 year old brother said, as he smiled at me.  I decided we're running out of time.  Your brother heard many scary stories and was afraid of being outside. I, who can't choose between either of my sons, cried again and again just thinking about it.
How many times have I signed?  How many tears have I shed?  Even at this moment.  I'll break into tears just thinking of you.  I regret leaving you behind.  I'll regret it for the erst of my life.  Because I'm your only mother in this world.  Because you, to me, are the only you inthis world. No matter how I desperately struggle, All I want is just for you to survive.  Your life is more important than you think it is.  For me, for our family, and for your only brother in the world.  Therefore, I won't give up.  I will never give up.  I'll never give up on your life.

After march 11th, in my hometown, nothing has changed.  "Rebuild and Recover", They say many new buildings were built.  Construction companies came to town and the harbor was cleaned up.  The way the town looked has changed.  but nothing has been mentioned abou the radiation.... This is a geiger counter that measurres alpha, gamma, and Beta levels.  With this, I walked around and measured the surface of the ground.  the surface of the ground had high radiation.  Very high... Our parking lot read 23.02uSv/h.  It's very scary.  I'm scared even more because we can'T see it.  We don't know where it is.  We evacuated here because radiation levels in the air are much lower than Soma.  It's safer for kinds.  but we were together as a family before.  All of a sudden my younger son and I live alone in this small apartment.  My son feels lonely.  But agove all, I'm worried about my eldest son's health.  I'm so worried... Looking at her son's hone, she said "They're both my treasures.  My younger son said the same thing that I said "It feels like we're living in another world."  He lost his childlike qualities.  He's looking at this reality very much.

Dr. Ayami Kobayashi, Internal Medicine in Hokkaido gives lectures to warn the danger of ionizing radiation to the citizens.  I very much agree with her views in her interview:

Q: If this nuclear disaster is as bad as Chernobyl, and our land is more populated than Chernobyl, we're afraid we'll see many people getting sick.  Our society has to face these issues.  Do you think it's a wakeup call for the mistake civilized society made to the point where our lives are not our own anymore?
Firstly, I hope we as life forms stand on our own feet on this mother earth.  I hope we have a desire to do so.  We shouldn't live by someone else's standard but stand and walk on our own then think and choose for ourselves.  If we can do this, the result would be always good.  We as Japanese who caused the nuclear disaster should think what energy source we choose for now?  What lifestyle do we choose for ourselves now?  What's the most important value to enrich our lives?  These choices we started to see after the accident.  I'm urged to inform people around me and it requires a lot of time to research.  I get depressed those times.  I'm in despair frequently.  Feels like we have a dark future.  The effort we're making for our patients here, to make fewer people exposed to radiation, I can't help but wonder what we're doing this for.
36m- Day by day, kids are exposing radioactive materials into their system.  Not saying anything is the same thing as walking away from a drowning kid.  If we don't do anything, things will become worse.  It's an obligation for people who knew about the risk of radiation to inform others.
Stop Re-operating!  Saika Do Hantai!
Protecting our lives!  Inochi wo Mamorou!
No More Nuclear Power!  Genpatsu Iranai!

If we have more people, something might change.
Our government abandoned us.  Anyone, please save the lives of Fukushima people and children.  Japan is clearly going insane.  It seems like we are about to get killed.  Please lend your strength to Fukushima.
Over 260,000 children remain in Fukushima today.
The Japanese government evacuated about 87,000 out of 20km radios of the plant, and most of them are still in Fukushima prefecture. 65% of Fukushima prefecture became the radiation control area (a level of the contamination is more than 37,000Bq/m2), so therefore most of them are still in radioactively contaminated area unless they evacuated out of Fukushima prefecture into safe area voluntarily without any financial help from the government.( voluntary evacuees within Fukushima prefecture is 23,551, voluntary evacuees out of Fukushima prefecture is 27,776 as of 22/9/11)
